I love to express my cultural identity through all forms of Art. I started creating art from a young age & have continued since.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I have tried almost every form of art possible, to sculpting, painting, drawing, printmaking, murals, etc. I have found one form of art that stood out the most & that is Fashion. In 2021, I was taught how to sew my own regalia & fell in love with sewing. In 2024, my family gifted me a sewing machine after the one we had for years broke. Since then, I have taught myself from Social Media & Youtube. My favorite part is designing with fabric. However, my goal is to one day design my Own fabric.
Where do you find inspiration?I am constantly learning new things about my culture and traditions. At the age of 13, I attended & Comanche Nation Youth Program & was taught a lot of our traditional ways. I try to incorporate a lot of that knowledge into my designs. For example, using the quantity of 4. The number 4 is a sacred number to the Comanche people. When our Comanche women build a tipi they start with 4 poles. I also know from helping build our tipi’s myself. Those small intricate details mean a lot to me.
What would you do with $25,000?My dream is to open my own small business & art studio. I want to plan & host art workshops & art camps for all community members of all ages! I have worked with youth for over 5 years & I have always wanted to make sure that the youth are involved as well as the adults. I want to teach the community how they can create & design in areas of Art they never thought to attempt. I would give the community an opportunity to create their own art in a comfortable space where they can express themselves
