My Native American & Canadian beading & hair sparkling humans as Mermaid Scarlett .
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from the Oregon coast, my children, grandchildren, pets, and the community around me. The ocean, tide pools, whales, forests, and storms inspire the fantasy world I create as Mermaid Scarlett. I blend Native American & Canadian beadwork, beauty art, mermaid performance, and storytelling into wearable art that brings people joy. Living with a disability has taught me resilience, and my family and community remind me every day why creating art matters. I want my work to inspire
What would you do with $25,000?I would use $25,000 to grow my art business and continue creating despite my mobility challenges. I would invest in , adaptive equipment, beadwork supplies, and materials for mermaid performances. I also want to create more family-friendly community events, inspiring content, and art projects that bring joy to children and families. A portion of the money would be donated to the nonprofit Animal Haven by the Sea.
