When I was young, I naturally gravitated to it as an expression of love and a way to reduce stress. Decades later, those feelings remain.

During college, I had wanted to become the kind of artist that shows in galleries. I even attempted graphic art as a career. Yet, I found that "art as job" made my neurodivergent symptoms unmanageable. Around the same time my physical health degenerated into chronic illnesses & chronic nerve pain. The subject & style of my art adjusted to focus toward the only thing that could motivate me to rise above all of that, which became giving gifts to others of characters that inspire us: Fan art.
Where do you find inspiration?Whatever resonates with me, whether it's in animation, or inspired by music, movies, shows. I want to draw the characters we identify with, that we feel ourselves represented by, expressed through, and bring us some sense of understanding of ourselves and the world. To express the love, appreciation, and depth of the story or facets we understand in them. Ser Davos, from GoT I had picked because of the hard lesson I face daily: Get up, and go fail again. That we must always try, and keep trying.
What would you do with $25,000?It would be split between the three things I need the most and cherish the most. Self-care to reduce pain (not covered by insurance), such as custom arch supports & a TMJ splint. Next: buying ahead basic items for my cats like flea treatments for a year, maybe set a small amount aside for their next round of vaccinations. Then, the rest would go to helping my elderly mother, whom I live with that I help take care of. I want to see her happy & not stressed over the house repairs we need.
