What is your favorite type of art to create?

"I am drawn to high-texture acrylic painting, specifically focusing on atmospheric landscapes and celestial themes. I love working with heavy textures and vibrant palettes because they allow me to build a physical, tactile world on the canvas. For me, art is about capturing a specific mood—whether it’s the quiet magic of a forest path or the vast mystery of a starry sky—and bringing that energy to life through color and depth."

Where do you find inspiration?

My inspiration comes from the intersection of nature and emotion. I find it in the way light breaks through a canopy of trees, the quietude of a rainy window, or the infinite scale of the cosmos. I’m inspired by the idea that a single image can transport someone to a different state of mind. Nature provides the 'bones' of my work, but the emotional 'flow' I feel while painting is what truly dictates the colors and textures of each piece."

What would you do with $25,000?

"This prize would be transformative for my practice. I would invest in a dedicated studio space and high-quality bulk materials to allow me to scale up my work even further, moving into even larger, more ambitious canvases. Additionally, I would use a portion of the funds to support local community art programs, as I believe deeply in the restorative power of creativity and its ability to help individuals navigate life’s more difficult chapters."
