Art helps me process complex emotions inspired by life, current events, music, loves and losses. I’m an intuitive abstract acrylic painter.

My favorite artistic experience is creating an intuitive abstract piece of art with bold colors and lots of movement. This flows naturally while listening to music that moves my soul. I also enjoy painting landscapes that capture sunsets, moving water or majestic oaks. More recently I’ve begun capturing the rare portrait or two. They are still a struggle for me but when I am connected to the person it brings a deeper sense of satisfaction when it comes together.
Where do you find inspiration?I find myself inspired by emotional experiences based upon current events or by music that takes me back to moments in my life where emotions ran deep and were hard to put to words. Painting allows me to process feelings and release emotions in a flow state that relaxes me and adds joy to my life and hopefully the lives of those who experience my art. It’s a way of connecting with the world. Artistic expression becomes a conversation of souls for those who are willing to share.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the funds to support my art events business to share painting classes with seniors, veterans and victims of domestic violence as a way of connecting and processing difficult emotions. It would provide better marketing materials and advertising to scale my business and would allow me to hire a part-time assistant to help with setting up events. My goal is to purchase land to build a live work studio where I can teach painting workshops and open a gallery. 10% goes to local charity.
