I portray the emotion, that comes from a scene. At its best it should give you that hauntingly familiar feeling along with those not felt

Oil painting is my lifelong medium. In particular I paint mostly on wooden panels and have a very specific preparation routine to create my ideal foundation. I've migrated to landscapes and seascapes over time. I prefer scenes that have little or no signs of human activity as I find nature itself is simply unsurpassed at capturing the beauty of our world. I want those who view my work to feel that drama, that serenity or that deep moody sense of deja vu.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration is literally everywhere! Watch the way the setting sun colors a tree near you. Walk out in high grass of a rolling field. Pay attention to the surf rolling in on an empty beach. In particular, watch the sky, it has endless moods that change in minutes. Many seemingly never repeated. It is impossible to live in this world and not be inspired. It is an endless tapestry woven of light, color, texture and movement.
What would you do with $25,000?I guess this is the part where I'm supposed to say all the wonderful things I would do with the money. Feed the hungry, work with children who want to become artists, heal the sick or become the living embodiment of Mother Teresa. But honestly I don't really have any idea. If you're familiar with the term 'starving artist' I think I would finally get to go out and have a prime rib dinner with a nice bottle of wine. After that, who knows!
