What is your favorite type of art to create?

I create expressive figurative oil paintings rooted in identity and memory. I don’t lune putting myself in a box but I’m expressionist I focus on the human form, often simplifying or distorting it to reflect emotion rather than realism. My work explores how identity is shaped over time, especially through memory and nostalgia

Where do you find inspiration?

I’m inspired by memory, identity, everyday life experiences and cultural references that stay with me over time. Nostalgia is central to my work, especially the feeling of longing for something you can’t fully return to. I look at vintage imagery, old photographs, and record covers, along with music like jazz that influences mood and rhythm. I’m drawn to anything that feels emotional, layered, and slightly out of reach.

What would you do with $25,000?

I’d use the $25,000 to build a new body of work around identity and memory, working at a larger scale and with more depth. It would let me focus on art full-time instead of splitting my time. My current studio is tight, so I’d expand or move into a better space to work freely. I’d also invest in materials, document the work properly, and apply to exhibitions so it can reach a wider audience.
