I like to create pieces that are soak in my truth and reflecting in the world around me. I like to create large pieces that evolve as I place every stroke of color and then invite people to experience, feel and use all their senses in an active way. I like to play with different media and textures, sometimes I use my hands almost primate to feel the paint in my fingers, it is organic and unplanned at times.
Where do you find inspiration?My inspiration come from different places, my ancestors roots, my memories or sometimes dreams, the community I serve and the hopes that I carry through my journey in this world. Sometimes inspiration comes from a song, a kiss or just simply from life in its best or worst.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the 25K to start a program for artist in the immigrant community where I work and I serve by giving access to materials space and experiences to amplify voices and open minds to possibilities for children and adults. Casa Chirilagua is where I serve and the place that inspires me to create a path to dream and hope for generations to come.
