Creating begins as a meditation in agitation. Pressing the surface of discomfort, moving with the medium, creates a shift. Play results.

It’s a practice. I love it when art making has me happy being alive, that gets me dancing, that takes me out of the everyday crush and demand of late stage capitalism. It’s most exciting when color, line, and flow pull me into deep focus, playful experimentation, and curious movement. If I’m painting and I step away from the canvas dancing - I know it works. That’s my favorite art to create.
Where do you find inspiration?I’m enlivened by edges, the places of shift and change, where the thin quiver of constant movement along boundaries is almost unseen. Pushing the edge requires being in the moment; it can be prickly, sharp, and jagged - it can also be fun, expansive, and sublime. I find inspiration in revolutionary transformation through Love, deep play, Beauty, and music.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use $25,000 to finance my projects. Oh, and I would go to the dentist - it’s been a while.
