I love to create art that transcends the ability to see with common eyes, but encourages the soul to truly see
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to create acrylic pieces, sometimes multi media to capture figures from my mind that do not have eyes, but have souls. A common thought is that eyes are the windows to the soul, but without the imagery of readable eyes, can we still see the soul? The deeper meaning behind this kind of art is the reality that we long for connection but most of us are too distracted by life to really stop, and to get to know the people around us.
Where do you find inspiration?Ever since I was a kid, I was inspired by wonderful film visionaries such as Tim Burton, and Guillermo del Toro. As an emotional child who resonated with their films and engrossed herself in mythology and Shakespeare in elementary school, I felt more seen with the depth of their films than any other form of media! My dream is to make a piece for both Burton and Del Toro!
What would you do with $25,000?I would bring my dream non profit foundation to fruition! Journeys of Hope, where we would create life changing trips and experiences for young adults struggling with mental illness to show them the beauty of the world around them, and to show them hope with qualified empathetic staff to mediate trips and provide support and safety if high emotions arise.
