I began Seaglass Mixed media art as a grief therapy after loss of my doctor husband in COVID in 2020.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I create mixed media art using beachcombed seaglass, pebbles, driftwood, semiprecious rocks, along with acrylics and gold leafing. I am influenced by Medieval Indian master artist Ustad Mansur, who worked in the Mughal court of Emperors Akber & Jehangir.
Where do you find inspiration?I get my inspiration from strong, resilient and brave women, nature, flowers, animals, plants, and the impact on the planet through climate change and injustices around us.
What would you do with $25,000?So many times, conventional artists tell me, "This is not art. This is a craft." Though by all means my work is unique, with high level of creativity, and definitely a one of a kind artform. I would use the amount for advocacy for the recognition of unconventional artforms( like mine) in the mainstream art scene.
