What is your favorite type of art to create?

The stirring of emotions is what drives me, whether it's writing music, poetry, storytelling, drawing/painting or sculpting, but I personally excel at carving. I have labored to depict any effigy out of many mediums, whether it's symbolic, abstract or classic I strive for meticulous attention to detail. Other than showcasing, all of my work has sold through word of mouth rather than advertising. My forte is carving custom canes out of black walnut wood, specifically designed for each customer.

Where do you find inspiration?

Nature is my main source of inspiration. Even my abstract artwork incorporates many fundamental elements like the Fibonacci sequence. I also write music and the universe, elementally, is music. To me, the most basic representation of reality in musical terms is the blues. It arouses emotions deeper than most other genres, with some exceptions in many other styles of course. The blues is primarily what I enjoy expressing with my instruments. Music has always been an inspiration for me to create.

What would you do with $25,000?

Invest into an e-commerce enterprise. I want to digitize some of my creations and incorporate them into my canes utilizing CNC machining. I would then hand finish them incorporating personalized touches geared toward individual customers worldwide. I would have apprentices that have the drive to develop these talents and ensure that the utmost attention to detail is adhered to. Sharing my passion with the world would not only provide income for me and my employees, but would spread joy as well.
