I love creating because it’s how I express what I can’t always say—when words fail me, I turn to photos or writing to let it out.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I’d say photography and writing are my favorites—especially poetry. I’m really drawn to darker, more emotional poems, the kind that feel a little raw and honest.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in pain—mine and others. I try to turn it into something honest, something that speaks not just for me, but for those who don’t always have a voice or a way to express what they feel.
What would you do with $25,000?I’d pay some bills first, then invest in growing my photography and writing. I’d love to create a book that brings both together—photos and my own stories about emigration, showing what people really live in my country and what it means to leave an island and start over carrying all of that with you.
