I create art to plant seeds of imagination, culture, and pride in young hearts—just like the stories that shaped me.

I love creating children’s books that blend storytelling, culture, and simple language learning. I also enjoy working in mixed media, which was the foundation of my first book, Where Nopalitos Grow. My work focuses on bringing everyday topics—like food and family traditions—to life in a way that sparks curiosity and connection.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my childhood memories, family traditions, and everyday moments with children and families. I’m especially inspired by culture, travel, and the small questions kids ask about the world around them.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the funds to expand my children’s book series, create more interactive educational materials, and bring storytelling programs into schools and libraries—especially in communities that benefit from bilingual and culturally inclusive resources.
