As a tactile oil painter, my favorite type of art to create is very hands on and I love tools. My paintings are thick and textured by palette knife, and I create backgrounds by smearing paint with my gloved hands. When I am not painting, I am tinkering around cutting and carving wood. My favorite pieces I have ever created are the kinds that make me feel primal and capable of producing my ideas with out limits.
Where do you find inspiration?Ideas come to me when I am observing life, as well as understanding the idea that I may also be perceived. With a natural desire to be understood I have to paint, write, or make what I find viewing the ins and outs of life in hopes someone will find release relating to it.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use this gift to explore unlocked inspiration. To share creative processes with my friends. To venture into the world to see other working artists perspectives. I would use this opportunity to fulfill creative desires and passions to pour into the world that I otherwise would not be able to access.
