My favorite type of art I create is surreal acrylic paintings on canvas. I love to be able to create different worlds for others to be able to walk into and forget about their own current realities and struggles. My artwork acts as gateways into realms that feel eerily familiar, but you can't seem to put your finger on how. Mixing surrealism and architecture is my current style and I don't see myself straying too far, at least for now.
Where do you find inspiration?I find my inspiration comes from our world and the properties within it, balancing the worlds man-made creations as well as the natural ones. Living day to day in a world that appears to be bleak and lacking in color, is not for the weak. However, we as humans still manage to deal with the bleakness while at the same time, trying to add their own color into the world. This is my goal and inspiration within my paintings, creating a space where others no longer live in such a dim reality.
What would you do with $25,000?If I were to win $25,000, I would put this money straight into my schooling towards my Master's in Fine Art as well as jumpstarting my career as an artist. $25,000 would allow me to create museum grade quality prints of my physical paintings and help spread my art as well as create a professional reputation as an artist. This money would also help me with entry fees for many gallery or museum shows and if accepted, that would help grow my platform and meet other professionals in this business.
