I create art because it preserves and inspires the human spirit, and a world with my stories in it is a better world.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I write Young Adult Fantasy novels. My debut, “Guardians of the Cosmic Clocks: The Emerald Tablets” garnered a Literary Global Children’s Book Award for best Young Adult novel, was recognized as a finalist for the Children’s Book International Award in Fantasy and runner-up for Best Children’s Book at the 2025 New York Book Festival. I have sold hundreds of copies, am on the shelves of bookstores in three states and libraries in two. The sequel, “Wings of the Gods” is out May 12, 2026.
Where do you find inspiration?I draw inspiration from the inherent pain of being human, and the fleeting nature of relationships. This sensitivity allows me to shape my characters into well-rounded, multi-dimensional representations, rather than cardboard cutouts. Despite the deep sadness of separation, I’ve also witnessed great beauty and kindness, finding faith in the spirit of togetherness, community and justice.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use this money to market my books to a larger audience through online ads, additional formats and in-person events. I’ve dreamed of taking my new book, “Guardians of the Cosmic Clocks: Wings of the Gods” on tour to bookstores, libraries and schools across the United States. This award would cover travel costs for a trip circuit, the cost of producing an audiobook and accelerate the writing process (while covering production costs) for my next book.
