My favorite art to create is music because I think it is the one artform that pierces through pain, misunderstanding and displacement in the world. When a song gets stuck in someone’s head and they are singing along, they are becoming the song and changing internally because of it. I want to heal through music and strip away society’s chains of shame, ostracization, and pressure to comform in a world that would rather tell you who you are rather than discovering for yourself.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the musicians, actors and legendary figures before me that paved the way to setting young minds free and ablaze with truth and rebellion of the world. Black Sabbath is one of many but taking a look at War Pigs will show exactly what time I am on in terms of my view of the world, war, deception and corruption.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use this money to finally begin what I’ve been planning for years with a collective of small artist I’ve gathered together under my artist collective called “JDX” the Jack Doz Experience. This would be an experience with music, film, comics, etc and a collection of artists, producers, music video directors, and more connections that I have accrued as not co-artists but family. Many of these people work a regular job as I do so I’ve dreamt for an opportunity to BE an opportunity for many.
