Trained at Leo Marcutz School of Art in Aix-en-Provence, my roots are in drawing and painting. Acrylics are my medium — fluid, fast, expressive. I sketch first, always, to find the soul of a subject. I’m obsessed with botanicals — a calla lily or tulip speaks strength and beauty to me. I crop photos into modular images, letting plants become something architectural. Mexican culture and ancient artifacts pulse through my work too. Texas roots, California life, French training, Mexican soul!
Where do you find inspiration?Everywhere culture has left a mark. The streets of Mexico City, ancient ruins, French light in Aix-en-Provence, the canals of Venice. I find it in plants — a calla lily’s strength, a tulip’s grace. I photograph botanicals and let the crop reveal something new. My Mexican influence, Texas upbringing, and California life all collide in what I see. Inspiration isn’t searched for. It finds me in texture, history, and beauty that refuses to be ignored.
What would you do with $25,000?Invest it straight back into my art. First, full immersion — a workshop in Mexico City, reconnecting with the ancient culture and artifacts that ignited something in me years ago. Then build my practice properly: quality acrylic supplies, brushes, paper, canvas. And a professional scanner — to finally digitize my drawings and botanicals the way they deserve to be seen. This money would turn a lifelong passion into a fully realized body of work.
