Jade Moller

Art was a love instilled in me by my grandmother. Growing up in Fort Lauderdale together, she taught me how to paint and draw as a child.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

My favorite type of art to create is usually oil paintings. Sculpting, sketching, and pottery are also some of my favorites. I’m always interested in learning new mediums, and I’m currently graduating from Florida State universities College of motion picture arts, with a BFA in CG Animation with a specialty in design and modeling, that I have absolutely fallen in love with.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in the ordinary. Things that with life moving so fast people normally would not notice. As someone who has been labeled as type B, I’m often referred to as scatterbrained, or inattentive. But that could not be the farthest thing from the truth, I’m distracted because I’m noticing all the small things like the cracks and the lines in the tiles that look like faces, the shadows from the leaves on the tree that makes shapes and movement that inspires me.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would use the money to buy equipment to keep painting and drawing, animation programs that I would not be able to afford as a fresh college graduate, and to start my future in New York, the place I have dreamed of moving to since I was 11 to peruse my dreams of directing an animated feature targeted towards young adults and the struggles of finding out who you are. Things that otherwise would be impossible for me without years of budgeting and saving.
