When I paint, time disappears. Art is my freedom, my meditation, my escape.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Favorite type of art to create is painting, especially expressive, meditative oil on canvas work. My relationship with painting deeper than just a hobby, it’s more like your reset button.
Where do you find inspiration?I don’t get inspired in the “sit and plan it out” kind of way… mine is much more emotional and intuitive. I don’t start with a strict concept. I start with a mood.... calm, restless, free, even a little heavy ..and the painting becomes a way to move that feeling out of me. It’s like I am pulled by colors and flow. My inspiration builds as I go. So inspiration shows up when: I am not rushed, I am not overthinking, I am just being.
What would you do with $25,000?I need to be stress free to be creative. 60% → Make my 2nd Bedroom a studio instead of renting it out to cover rent. So I will pay $1500 toward the rent for 12 months. 20% → Buy time (less work, more freedom) 20% → Occasional escape to reset. Travel somewhere for a month, simple life in a new culture - Hire marketing agent and art Broker.
