My favorite works to produce are immersive installations that blend sculpture, murals, textile art, and tapestries. These "narrative landscapes" allow me to transform urban nuances into sensory environments exploring nature’s resilience and childhood memories. Using tactile materials like tufted fiber, I invite viewers to experience the vibrant, chaotic heartbeat of New York—my home for over a decade—and see the city's rhythms through my eyes.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration flows from the daily urban experience of living in New York City, my home for over a decade. Every day is a process of discovery; I am constantly learning from the atmosphere of my subway commutes and the subtle seasonal shifts within the metropolitan environment. These observations allow me to uncover new details in the city's diverse vibrancy, which I then translate into immersive narrative landscapes that explore the resilience of nature.
What would you do with $25,000?I would strategically invest in the longevity of my career as a multimedia artist. A significant portion would go toward upgrading my studio space and professional tools to better support the creation of immersive, large-scale installations. I would also secure specialized materials for my fiber art—specifically the diverse textiles and yarns essential for my tufted tapestries and soft sculptures.
