I typically focus more on Stencils and spray paint. I paint on water color paper, but in the past few years, I have been painting on wooden doors. I use repetition of words in a visual palimpsest to create a sense of buzzing energy in my works.
Where do you find inspiration?I grew up in the south where there is so much history. I’ve always been enamored by the Civil Rights movement. As a teacher, my goal is to keep the names of those heroes, martyrs, and even villains alive so that we don’t forget what happened once those people have left this world.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it to revive the Ginger Pride Parade, an event that ran from 2011-2020 and promoted anti-bullying/suicide prevention.
