I create art to give my viewers the opportunity to interact in my space & to be unapologetic in the way that I feel — it’s my escape.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is abstract, thought-provoking pieces using your everyday found objects. I also love creating drawings, photograph, digital & mixed media art as well! I love using charcoal, pencil, pen, pastels, chalk, colored pencil, acrylic paint & metals such as: aluminum & bronze — anything that I can get my hands on to make the pieces my own!
Where do you find inspiration?I find my inspiration through situations & circumstances that I’ve gone & grown through throughout my life. The biggest thing that teaches me to continue to make art is my 4 year-old daughter — she’s pushed me to continue to be the artist that I am today. Being able to continue to create pieces together allows me the opportunity to show her that art is a way of life & it can also be a way to escape the real world. It has also taught me how to cope with tough life situations!
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to start the funding towards my own art studio. I’ve always wanted my own art studio to teach classes for young and upcoming artists! I’d also love my own space to create more art pieces & host exhibitions! This has always been a major dream of mine!
