I aim to portray both my inner and outer landscapes into contemporary abstract paintings. It fills my cup and creative wellbeing.

As I primarily work in series, my favourite art to create is one that reflects different seasons of my life. They are inspired by feelings that I am trying to process. For example, my Phthalo Blue series titled, "Space to Breathe" was inspired by Waterton Lake National Park. It was the mini getaway and inspiration that I needed when the pressure of deadlines and work felt overwhelming. This series explores lots of negative spaces and calming blues to inspire a sense of vastness.
Where do you find inspiration? My artistic process begins outdoors when I am exploring hiking trails in the Canadian Rocky mountains or simply absorbing the natural world. You know how you can never capture what you see in the real world with your camera? I am to translate the essence of these landscapes using central colours, dynamic composition, and organic elements (sand, water, etc.) to create pieces that feel both modern and deeply connected to nature.
What would you do with $25,000?I would build the art studio that I have always dreamed of. First things first, professional lighting so I can paint into the wee hours of the night and more professional grade supplies since paint is not cheap! I have always wanted to build a large scale public art piece to contribute to the vibrant art scene in my community so I would like fund that endeavour (whatever it looks like).
