Since my earliest memories in childhood, I've always been driven to create art. It's just organically who I am. Life isn't life without it.

My favorite type of art to create is for all levels of books, especially children's books. I have illustrated (and sometimes written, as well) 26 books in the last 11 years. I also love to be commissioned to create portraits of loved ones and pets. I especially love creating artwork for numbered and signed art prints that I sell to many followers. All of my artwork is hand created with pencil and watercolor paint on professionally cut illustration board.
Where do you find inspiration?First, I find inspiration from life experiences, experiences that are a part of the human condition, that most people, young and old, understand and experience. Especially when writing and illustrating for children, I'm inspired to create themes about having integrity, with empathy and kindness for all those around us. Another strong source of inspiration is nature, including the seasonal beauty of the landscapes around us and the animals that live within it.
What would you do with $25,000?I would definitely use the money to publish more material, more books and artwork through my writing and art business. As a self-employed artist and writer, I could absolutely use the boost to fill the holes so that I can create more content and art, especially for the world of young readers.
