Surreal and temporal photography whose practice incorporates mixed media. Her work explores ecological consciousness, transformation, and the imperfection of being human. She experiments with long exposures, light painting, digital solarization, and mixed media, often incorporating flora and upcycled materials from her permaculture food forest, to create low-footprint portraits informed by historical influences, religious iconography, and surrealist aesthetics.
Where do you find inspiration? My work is influenced by Man Ray and other surrealists in their use of symbolism and constructed imagery. I draw from Paolo Roversi and Elizaveta Porodina for their use of light and atmosphere. Grounded in ongoing art historical study, my work reflects environmental awareness through permaculture principles and natural materials.
What would you do with $25,000?If selected, I would direct the $25,000 toward the production and publication of my first monograph, Biophiliac, focused on ecological consciousness and transformation. A portion of the funding would be dedicated to compensating collaborators, supporting an ethical and sustainable creative process.
