The idea of loving art doesn’t make sense to me. LIVE art. Tune in to the fine details, and keep your style on your sleeve. Tame the beast.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
This hurts my case, but fashion is my favorite, no doubt. Both styling, and creating clothing. I dream about jeans, cotton shirts, silk dresses, and occasionally come off as a creep when I check out other peoples wears. Photography for a detail oriented person acts as a physical embodiment of how we see. Without the risk of the photographs subject moving, anybody can analyze, and find amusement from the split second that otherwise we alone would have noticed.
Where do you find inspiration?I enjoy discovering patterns. Psychologically, and physically. The latter is most important in this context. For the project pictured, I documented the pattern of the gazillion cats roaming the sidewalks of İstanbul. I went on two trips to Turkey to reconnect with my family, and from the moment I arrived, it became about the “wild” cats. Every cat I came across was photographed. Even the funny looking ones. “Cats In Istanbul”
What would you do with $25,000?Traveling is my greatest dream. I plan to see every square inch of the world one way or another. Of course continuing to display people’s (and animals) patterns. Maybe my next project will be “Cows in New Delhi”. Or Cats In Istanbul again, with significantly better camera quality. Also, being a college student in NYC, buy ramen noodle soup.
