I love to create because it allows me to express myself in the most soulful way also allows me to connect with people in a loving way.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
If I am to label myself I have coined the term,Urban Pop Surrealist. A multi diverse artist, a mix of graffiti/street art, Pop Culture/childhood inspirations like Spy vrs Spy, Ren and Stempy, and influences of Salvador Dali and the Surrealistic movement. I work in aeresol paint, acrylics, oil paint, pen and ink, watercolor, ceramics to name a few mediums I am currently working in. I love to explore mediums, see what mediums work good together to bring out vibrant colors with a humanoid touch.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration is everywhere, I am so thankful for my ability to not only visual see but see things in a more meaningful way, the vibrancy of color, being present, still so to witness the beauties in life outside in nature and internally through the exploration of the solar system of the mind. Inspiration also comes from my upbringing, being allowed to see the world before the cellphone, the internet and now AI distractions. Cartoons, film, comic books, toy design made by humans.
What would you do with $25,000?For over a decade I have been helping in keeping Urban Pop Surrealism a part of community in CO. Springs. In hopes of building a more eclectic community of artists that feel accepted. I believe CO Springs needs a more open minded community to build a richer cultural experience for all. This award money would allow me to travel & spread love through my art, find a more open armed community/free spirited community to teach art again to the youth & would help me afford materials to expand my art!
