I create art to help people stop and stare for a while, feel emotions, to restore the balance and peace in a world that never sleeps.

My favourite type of art to create is anything that brings emotions to otherwise still faces. My art is a mixture of graphite portraits, and oil paintings of landscapes and emotional sceneries. My favourite type of art is still and captivating paintings, ones open to interpretation, each with a unique meaning in the eyes of others. I favour creating art that doesn’t tie a viewer down to seeing what’s simply in front of them, but rather what could be in front of them if they too create art.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in current and historic events, I read about events that have happened around the world or are currently taking place and I create art of scenes that I imagine would catch the gaze of people who can make a change, learning from our mistakes seeing them immortalized through art. My graphite portraits are often of endangered animals, seeing the beauty of nature and creating portraits of animals that cannot advocate for themselves, I find inspiration in helping them be seen.
What would you do with $25,000?I feel that fine arts is a practice that is diminishing slowly. In the community where I grew up, there isn’t any places where young artists can showcase their work. Therefore, with the $25,000 I would create non-profit classes and a space for artists to network and learn to master their craft. The money would all go towards supplying the community with art supplies and field trips to view art exhibitions and art schools that may inspire the younger generation to pursue careers as artists.
