Jason Clifton

Art is my therapy. It is written in a universal language. No matter if it’s 10,000 years from now it still tells the story.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

I live to create art that matters to the world. Art that reminds people to remember we are living memory and history in the making. We are everything that has ever been and we are that thing right now. I make art to celebrate heritage and that little glint in the eye that comes from the cosmos. My favorite art to make is art that makes me feel alive and a little sad I won’t be here forever.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in everything I see and experience. I’m inspired by the people I met as a kid who were way older and still being rad. I wanted to be like that and now I’m the one people see and want to be. I’m inspired by being a part of that cycle and living proof it’s real if you make it.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would give my kiddo a solid foundation. Living as an artist and raising a child is good by showing her she can be what she wants if you work for it but there are real ups and down that get scary sometimes. It’s a double edged sword. I would get us both solid for the future.
