Being an artist is my fundamental nature. It is a gift that brings with it an obligation to share it with the world. I serve the Art
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My practice is rooted in representational illustration centered primarily on the tactile depth of oil on canvas. This formal work is deeply informed by a ongoing dialogue with graphite, charcoal, and watercolor-media I utilize for their immediacy and raw gestural capacity to capture the essence of the subject.
Where do you find inspiration?I am a chronic observer, drawn to the quiet majesty of the everyday. My work seeks to unearth the beauty hidden in plain sight-the unscripted pulse of human emotion and the vast, often overlooked landscapes that anchor our existence. I am interested in the totality of Life: the grace, the grit, and the unvarnished truth of our shared experience, warts and all.
What would you do with $25,000?A windfall of this magnitude would be a catalyst for my gallery’s evolution, an investment in the heartbeat of Wisconsin’s creative community. My vision is to expand it’s capacity to act as a sanctuary for contemporary voices, providing a more robust, inclusive stage where artists of every discipline and caliber can find their rhythm. By deepening our roots, I aim to cultivate the gallery, weaving a stronger, more vibrant tapestry across our state's artistic landscape.
