I want to show the world that with enough attention and care anything can be made to be beautiful. All materials can be crafted into art.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love making furniture, one of a kind studio pieces that can live in someone’s space as both art and functional object. I think some times we separate art and object. Declaring one as beautiful and the other as utility. I believe all things we make should be beautiful. Especially the objects that live with us.
Where do you find inspiration?Architecture and nature are massive inspirations for me. I love how architecture uses space, proportion and material to create new environments. Nature on the other hand is a cosmos within itself. Every inch of nature is a beautiful composition. I also really love sci-fi movies based in possible futures. The contrast of future tech mixed with ancient past such as starwars, blade runner, cowboy bebop or dune really scratches an itch for me.
What would you do with $25,000?It’s been really challenging to have time to make art and balance bills and a life. Id love to take a few months off and really grind towards a solo show. Id like to produce a new body of work and really show how much my skills and style has grown since undergrad. This money would simply give me some time to make without the financial pressures of life buzzing around my head.
