I create art to express the beauty and gratitude I see in my world. I also hope too please the gods with my offerings.

My favorite type of art to create is oil painting. I’m drawn to the richness and depth it allows, and the way I can build layers to bring a piece to life. While oil painting is my preferred medium, what I choose to paint depends on what inspires me in the moment. I enjoy exploring a range of subjects, including landscapes, seascapes, portraits and a lot of fish.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my daily life as a fishing captain. I’m often out on the water at sunrise, catching bait as the sky explodes with color and the day begins. I see wildlife up close like fish, birds, dolphins, and manatees and experience moments that most people don’t get to witness. It’s hard not to be inspired by that kind of natural beauty. The light, movement, and atmosphere I see on the water often influence the subjects and mood of my artwork.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest into my art business. The capital would really help with growth. I could look at possible studio space, maybe an art festival trailer tent setup, or even a really high quality printer. It could be very useful in furthering my art career.
