Anything that gets my using my hands and my brain. Sculptural paintings - meaning a surface that bears both paint and 3-D elements in any ratio. Thinking up parodied lyrics on a whim. Figuring out how to make a room work. Whatever I create is art because I’m an artist. That’s something i truly cant help.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the children I teach who attend my art classes. They keep my eyes fresh. It’s so easy to get caught up in scrolling on social media looking at what people my age and older have created, but staying connected to the youth…not only are they more honest with their work, but theyre more fearless. They play because playing is fun - not because its their “calling” or their “job” or “what makes money”.
What would you do with $25,000?I recently lost my job (boo) so…I would begin by treating my friends to a dinner as a thank you for their UNDYING emotional support and then i would take my mom out on a date and give her everything back that i borrowed over the past 2 months. I need the people i love to know whenever i get the chance to thank them- im not going to wait on giving back. The rest- i would save for a rainy day.
