Creating art started as a means of communication. It helped me sort through my experiences and emotions, documenting time with every stroke.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is one that brings the viewer into the work. Abstract paintings, large murals or immersive installations. I enjoy creating work that invites the view in, to look deeper into the work while my hope is they look deeper at themselves.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration is found in the experiences and moments made. Sometimes therapy induced or something difficult that I am sorting through. Mural creation is generally inspired by plants and animals, their deeper meanings and stories that have been passed around about them. Recently the exhibit I created was inspired by our Human Condition of Love & Grief.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000 I would be free to create. Purchase tools needed to lean into the building of shows, exhibits, and structures. Taking courses that deepen my skill sets, and lean into the possibilities without the weight of financial pressures.
