I create art to give form to the hidden tensions, vulnerabilities, and systems that shape how we move through the world.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite work to create blends expressive color, organic form, and figuration into compositions that balance realism with stylization. My visual language draws from Baroque drama, Fauvist color, and Pop Art sensibilities, allowing me to merge historical influence with contemporary narrative.
Where do you find inspiration?inspiration emerges from daily life as a Type 1 diabetic and from the human connections that shape my experience, conversations with my community, personal reflection, and the students I have the privilege to teach. These interactions continually inform my work, grounding it in lived experience, vulnerability, and shared humanity.
What would you do with $25,000?Receiving $25,000 would significantly expand my studio practice by allowing me to scale my work into larger, more ambitious pieces, including interactive and public facing installations. The funding would support materials, fabrication, and experimentation necessary to advance my research driven practice and broaden the impact of my work within public and communal spaces.
