My art puts me in touch with the eternal rhythm of the universe, the rhythm that guides and informs all things—yours truly, not least.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I call my fine art photography the art of little things—the smaller moments that might otherwise escape the notice of others. Could be some gold or rusty leaves just below the water surface, straining to luxuriate in a shaft of late afternoon sunlight as it pierces the dense cypress canopy of the marshlands. Or perhaps a sideways glance. Or maybe the humble demise of a tropical blossom, like a soft exhale at the end of the day.
Where do you find inspiration? My art has taught me that all creation is a function of rhythm, and that all artists create by ear—regardless of medium. Painters paint by ear. Sculptors sculpt by ear. Writers write by ear. Dancers dance by ear. Inspiration serves a specific function: it tells me precisely when to listen. "The rhythm," it says, "is waiting for you." So I am eager and humbled to find inspiration and beauty and humanity in all manner of people, places and things—all the time, everywhere I look.
What would you do with $25,000?Pay back some old friends who were kind enough to help me along the way, and treat my wife (my better 75%) to something special. She's a great lady with a quietly heroic soul, and I have learned from her many things, all of which have made me a better man. I owe her.
