My truest calling in life is to isolate beauty from the mundane, display its glory through all five senses, and use it to inspire others.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love creating magic wands, and heres why: My art is my magic and it is a core aspect of my life. To me, art and magic are one and the same. Each of these unique wands is a reflection of that magic. More than that, to hold one in silence is to hold and reflect upon a symbol of one's inner self. That's why I create what I love. Each piece is a reflection of an inner journey.
Where do you find inspiration?"Inspiration" is actually quite a rare thing for me. I dont plan anything. I just listen to the materials and they tell me what they want to be and how they want to be shaped. I sit and the work flows from me in its own time and way. I never know exactly how a wand will come out and I'm just as awed as everyone else when my pieces take shape. Not so much inspiration, but flow from deep within. Connection. Thats my process: Resonance and creation through stillness.
What would you do with $25,000?This is what I do with a shoe string budget, mostly scavenged materials, and an 8×10" shed for a workshop. I honestly cant yet imagine what I'd create with something like $25k and access to finer materials. My process deeply relies on what those materials say to me as I work, not so much pre-planning. Therefore, I'd just have to win it and be surprised with the rest of the world. Im just the hands. The art largely creates itself.
