"As a Syrian artist, I use my unique visual style to transform experiences of war and loss into a powerful message for peace and humanity

"My favorite medium is fiber art and conceptual collage, where I treat repurposed clothing as a 'second skin' rich with human history. I focus on hand-stitching as a temporal signature, connecting past and present through every needle hole. This process transforms simple assembly into a rebirth of forgotten emotions. By using buttons and threads, I create a dialogue between union and detachment, aiming to restore meaning and preserve equilibrium within chaos."
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration flows from the 'fleeting moment' and the weight of time held within discarded objects. I find my Muse in the silence of an absolute pause, where a needle’s path becomes a journey of resistance against oblivion. I am inspired by the dialogue between the firmness of a stitch and the patience of a buttonhole—a symbolic restoration of the self. For me, every thread is a bridge between eras, turning forgotten materials into a tangible trace of existence.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I would dedicate myself entirely to my craft, securing the time and resources needed to advance my artistic journey. I plan to curate solo exhibitions that serve as a visceral stage for the stories of war victims. By integrating their actual clothing into my hand-stitched collages, I aim to transform fabric into a living archive of human resilience. This funding will allow me to amplify these silent voices, turning personal loss into a global narrative of peace.
