What is your favorite type of art to create?

Drawing & sketching, both by hand & digitally, have been my long-standing fave, esp at the beach. But since Covid hit, I have delved deeply into screen-printing. I’m drawing from both my graffiti background & love of nature. My recent series mixes these two, typography with illustrated hibiscus flowers. This has evolved from my prints of brushstrokes, which I extracted from my original paintings, capturing the energy, movement & rhythm of both graffiti & the ocean.

Where do you find inspiration?

Both in nature & New York City! I enjoy the juxtaposition of the urban environment mixed with parks, flowers, & botanic gardens. But my ultimate is ocean side, sitting in the sand, absorbing the fierceness of the oceans flow & salt in the air.

What would you do with $25,000?

It would fully support my studio practice. I’d buy some large scale canvases & get to work!
