Concepts of layering suggests a person can add, or take away, which appeals to me. Expressions are revealed thru nature's layered elements.

Every art class that I took in college was my favorite, for the duration of the class. As much as I dislike putting myself in a box, if I must choose just one type of art, then I would say watercolor. However, that includes the whole process - from creating the paper that I paint on, painting, and creating the paper of which I often mount the painting. The process of creation becomes an organic experience in layering. I love thatPigment floating on water can become both expressive and relaxing!
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in all the layers of life. I am married to a farmer and although I have always loved the trees that I grew up with in SE OK, farm life has given me a deep appreciation for the land and all that it provides. My art is meant to show appreciation and pay homage to the beauty of the land.
What would you do with $25,000?Pay most of it forward, by setting up a $20,000 art scholarship at the local community college, where I taught. The remainder of the money would be used for a trip to Italy, where I could view in person most of the art that I spent years studying and teaching about. Unfortunately, I have never been able to travel, and I have longed to view the work of the Masters!
