My favorite art to create is vibrant, story driven paintings filled with whimsy, memory, and emotion. I’m drawn to florals, vintage objects, and faceless women, inviting viewers to see themselves in the work. I often paint women from behind because you never know what they are facing. Through bold color and symbolism, I explore resilience, feminine strength, and hope, creating art that lifts people and tells a story through color and spirit.
Where do you find inspiration?My inspiration begins with my mother and grandmother, both artists who nurtured my creativity and showed me the beauty of creating. I also find inspiration in the world around me, vintage treasures, gardens, textiles, color, everyday objects, and quiet moments often overlooked. Personal memory, resilience, and the stories women carry all influence my work, transforming ordinary beauty into paintings filled with meaning and wonder.
What would you do with $25,000?If awarded $25,000, I would first give back to an organization close to my heart. I would also purchase a car, something I have gone without for nearly five years, bringing much needed stability. Beyond that, I would invest in creating an arts center that offers classes, fosters community, and spotlights local artists. I would want the award to not only support my own journey, but create opportunities for others.
