My favorite type of art to create is work that sits between storytelling and visual research—pieces where image, text, and symbolism overlap to build layered meaning. I’m especially drawn to mixed-media work that combines painting, digital design, and photography because it allows me to move between personal memory and collective experience in a single piece.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration doesn’t usually come from one big moment, but from a mix of everyday experiences, curiosity, and simply paying attention to the world around you. It can be found in small things like conversations, emotions, or even quiet moments alone, as well as in other people’s work—art, music, books—that push you to think differently or imagine new possibilities.Sometimes, inspiration comes from challenges or limitations that force you to be creative, and other times it grows out of it.
What would you do with $25,000?If I had $25,000 and the goal was to go to school, I’d treat it like a strategic investment, not just spending money. First, I’d look for a program that gives me strong career outcomes without draining the entire amount—like a state school or a well-funded MFA where scholarships and assistantships can stretch that money further. Instead of using it all on tuition, I’d try to split it: cover key school costs, keep a portion for living expenses so I’m not constantly stressed, and reserve a small a
