I love creating art because it’s everything to me. It’s mediation, a release and a way to reconnect with myself. It puts me in the flow.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love creating with many forms of art because each medium brings a different kind of energy and expression. Drawing, painting, mixed media, photography and digital art - anything I can get my hands on becomes part of the creative process. I enjoy experimenting with texture, color, layering, and unexpected materials where the work naturally evolves. Some ideas begin as sketches, while others grow through paint, collage or found objects. It allows me use my voice without saying the words.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration comes from life. The good the bad and even the ugly. My characters are titled Eternal Travelers. They are intuitive and raw. I never have an idea when I start a painting and rarely does it end with where it began. When I spend time in nature, hiking, walking or just staring at the stars my mind is clear and the painting that follows is an extension of it.
What would you do with $25,000?I would start with finding a space where my cats and I can live. I have been renting a small room for the past two years. I am grateful for it but it’s not an environment where one can thrive. I would buy better supplies. My finances have been very limited and I need to create to survive so I buy what I can afford. My style is now my own and I want to share it with the world. They all have different messages for each person. They feel shamanic. Thank you for the opportunity to share my vision
