Because I’ve had a bad go at life and gives me a release from past traumas, it helps me feel like I am giving back by turning pain into art.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I’m an artist. I love them in all forms. Acting takes me out of the sometimes torment or chaos I live in, I can relate to someone else see how the other shoe fits from different perspectives and portray it. Dance makes me feel free. Music gives me a voice. Painting calms my mind, its tranquil and writing allows me to change the narrative of even my own life, things that have happened, I’d like an atonement for.Writing I can create a different world. All forms of art help in equal different ways.
Where do you find inspiration?Life. That’s all the inspiration anyone needs. It’s all that’s happening in this world is life. Death is the end. There is no fear in that because it’s hollow, there’s nothing there. Life is scary. It’s unpredictable, it’s highs and lows. Life if you’re willing to live it holds all the feelings this somewhat terrible world can offer. You get a little joy then immediately are humbled by the pain that imminently follows.
What would you do with $25,000?Well I could afford things a little more. At the moment I’m struggling to rent out my apartment that I can’t afford so I can stay with a friend for cheaper. Health insurance is 430/month, car not paid off. I can’t afford to live and on the surface everything seems great but it’s not. My mom passed away last year. My dad has been out of the picture since I was a kid. So no parents, no one really to rely on but me and I could use all the help I can get. And like to make a film w/one of my scripts.
