I started painting when I was 12. I was in and out of halfway homes, foster care, hospitals and eventually homeless and a teenage mom.

I couldn’t afford my own materials when I started so I stole most of my materials or had a boyfriend buy them for me. Now I am an intuitive artist. I listen to music and pick an emotionally charged moment and hold that in my head. I pick a song that is a soundtrack to the moment I’m holding onto. I play the moment like a movie. Sometimes I play it over again exactly how it happened but try to see it from different perspectives. Other time I reimagine the moment to have a more satisfying ending.
