At 50, I found the art of wood burning to be very relaxing. At the end of a long day is nice to just destress, relax and create.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love wood burning. You can make the smallest delicate flower or the fiercest dragon and make them your own. I find a good picture, trace it out and add it to my piece of wood. This is where the magic starts. By adding little extra bits and pieces and adding a little bit more to the story you're trying to create.
Where do you find inspiration? That all depends on if I'm doing an ordered piece or one just for fun. My commissioned pieces have to be what the client is asking for, so those are worked with them in mind. My just for fun pieces start with a thought. Then I begin to add more to the picture to hopefully tell a story.
What would you do with $25,000?I would definitely pay off some bills first and foremost. Then I think I might buy a new table for my burning projects, right now I'm just using a folding TV tray.
