I love creating art because it lets me slow down and notice the world in a different way.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favourite art to create is narrative-driven painting that captures quiet, often overlooked moments. I am especially drawn to scenes that feel familiar yet slightly mysterious. They are interiors, doorways, windows, and spaces that suggest a story just beyond what is visible. These are the in-between moments: the pause before someone enters a room, the glow of a lamp at dusk, or the stillness of a place that feels lived in but momentarily empty.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the quiet, everyday spaces that often go unnoticed. Interiors, doorways, windows, and transitional spaces continually draw me in. Places that feel lived in, yet momentarily still. I am especially inspired by the subtle tension between presence and absence, where a space holds traces of a story without fully revealing it.
What would you do with $25,000?If awarded $25,000, I would invest in both the development of my studio practice and the growth of my professional art career, with a focus on creating a cohesive, gallery-ready body of work and expanding my reach within the arts community.
