I am an Earth Artist. I create Art influenced by the mysteries and signs of cave art. Ancient processes and early languages inspire my work.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite Art to create is my own. Collecting natural minerals and clays I make paints and slips using non-toxic materials, binders and processes. Handmade papers with a plant base glue over wooden panels create a textured foundation similar to a stone surface to paint animals and ancient symbols from early languages. Charcoal and chalks describe details of Stories from the deep past which appear across the canvas telling their mysteries.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in many things…in particular the art in Paleolithic Caves and the signs left behind. As a college student I became fascinated with different languages and their roots. I also recognized that the Art in ancient caves lasted thousands of years so I began to study methods to making my own paints for Art. I created a dual degree of Art and Languages. This journey has led to further exploration, application and appreciation of Art integrated with pictographic messages.
What would you do with $25,000?I would enjoy teaching others how they too can make Art that is safe and equally friendly for themselves as well for those that collect Art. It is much easier to process art materials than some may think. In many cases, materials are right outside the front door. There are earth friendly sources for artists to get started and educated about creating safe studios. Sharing and hands on experience on how to become an Earth Artist or Earth Art collector are essential to the future of our planet.
